Convergem ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Convergem mobile application and web application (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using Convergem, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the Service.

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: When you sign in via Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
• Profile data: Display name you choose within the app.
• Commitment and task data: Titles, notes, due dates, priority levels, and other details of commitments you create.
• Chat messages: Messages you send within the Convergem chat feature.
• Notes: Notes you attach to commitments or people.
• Extracted content: Text, PDF content, or images you submit for AI extraction.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, and interaction patterns.
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version.
• Log data: IP address, browser type, error logs, and timestamps of requests.
• Subscription status: Your current plan (Free or Pro) and billing history managed through Stripe.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

• Google OAuth: Name, email, and profile photo from your Google account when you sign in.
• RevenueCat: Subscription and entitlement status synced across platforms.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Process and fulfill your commitment tracking requests
• Run AI-powered extraction on text, PDFs, and images you submit
• Enable chat and collaboration features with your connected contacts
• Send reminders and notifications based on your preferences
• Process subscription payments and manage your billing
• Analyse usage patterns to improve features and user experience
• Respond to your support requests and communications
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
• Comply with legal obligations

When you use the AI extraction feature, the text, PDF, or image content you submit is sent to our AI processing infrastructure to identify and extract commitments. This content:

• Is processed solely to provide the extraction result to you
• Is not used to train AI models without your explicit consent
• Is not shared with third parties beyond what is required to deliver the service
• May be temporarily cached to provide results but is not stored beyond your session unless you explicitly save the extracted commitments

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in these circumstances:

5.1 Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party services who process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — Database hosting and authentication infrastructure
• Google — Authentication (OAuth 2.0)
• Stripe — Payment processing for Pro subscriptions
• RevenueCat — Subscription management and entitlement tracking
• AI providers — Processing extraction requests (content is not retained by providers for training)

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Convergem, our users, or the public.

5.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5.4 With Your Consent

We may share your information with other parties when you give us explicit permission to do so.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Commitments and tasks: Retained until you delete them or your account
• Chat messages: Retained until deleted by you or the conversation participants
• Billing records: Retained for up to 7 years as required by financial regulations
• Usage logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher
• Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256
• Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only
• We regularly review our security practices and update them as needed

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (right to be forgotten)
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: Object to our processing of your data in certain circumstances
• Restriction: Request that we restrict processing of your data
